The Big Day
Today was
supposed to be the best day of my life, the day that everyone looks forward to-
my wedding day. I had been anticipating
the event for almost a year, when Adam proposed to me. I started the day with
butterflies in my stomach, knowing what I was getting my self into. I raced
down the stairs into the kitchen to be greeted by my best friends, also my
bridesmaids, screeching at me about the wedding. “Oh my gosh Addy I swear I
thought you would never get up!’’ Emily told me. “The wedding starts in four
hours and we haven’t even started to get ready yet!!” said my other best friend
Sawyer. We drove the church so that they could finish helping me get ready for
the day. They rushed me to my “dressing room” as Emily liked to call it to get
my hair and makeup done. My friend Tessa, the beauty genius, started her magic
makeover. After two hours of torture she was finally done.
The nerves
started building up as the time got closer. I had told my long time ex
boyfriend/ best friend Sean about my wedding and he hadn’t been too happy about
it. We had dated for 6 years, through college adventures and parties, through
all my good and bad times, and always took care of my problems when I needed
help. We have been best friends since we were little kids and I couldn’t
imagine my life without him. The problem was my father doesn’t approve of him
and he forced us to break up. I have never forgiven him for ruining our
relationship, but he is my dad so I had to get over it. As I get ready to walk down
the isle I start getting cold feet and I am having doubts about what I’m about
to get myself into. I really do love my fiancé, Adam but he can be a jerk
sometimes. My second thoughts make me feel guilty as I stand waiting. I told my
father to wait for Sean to show up because I knew he wouldn’t let me do this.
After college he moved to Australia and I haven’t seen him in a year, but I
have a feeling he didn’t make it in town in time.
As I walk down the isle I take a
deep breath, while music plays in the background. I get to the end and step up
to where Adam stands and I see the happiness in my father’s eyes. He set my up
with Adam through work and has always supported him. Just as the minister
starts to say the vows I see Sean burst through the doors of the church and I
see the look of hurt and disappointment I his eyes. “STOP!!!!”
wow emma ur story is so amazin i cannot even. so inspired!!!
