Additional Student of the Month Interview

Interview of the Principal:

1. Do you help choose the Student of the Month?

Yes, I have a say in who is chosen.

2. Did you come up with the idea of having a Student of the Month?

Yes, I wanted to encourage students to succeed.

3. How many students have gotten chosen so far?

So far 21 students have been chosen since we started it 2 years ago.

4. What do you look for when helping choose a student of the month?

I look for a respectful and studious person.

5. Do you think having a Student of the Month has changed how students are motivated to do better in school?
I think that certain students have made sure that they are behaving correctly and working hard to get student of the month, which is definitely a good thing.

Interview of a Student:
1. Have you won Student of the Month before?
No I have never won Student of the Month before.
2. Do you want to get student of the month?
Yes and no because I would like to win it in a way to have recognition for my hard work but I also know that it is hard to win because there are so many hard working students here.
3. Do you think it is fair to have a student of the month?
Not really because most students that have won did things that were really big like a competition of some sort.
4. If you did win what would it be for?
I would win for athletics because I am on the varsity football team and I am also a good student.
5. Why do you think the school created a student of the month?
I think they created it because the school wanted to create a way for students to have an extra thing to be encouraged in to do well.
